Council On Aging The mission of the Salem Council on Aging is to develop and offer programs for all Senior Citizens. The council recognizes that the main center of programs and services is offered at the Senior Center of Salem, but also stresses the necessity of offering services to the homebound, isolated, and culturally diverse Senior Citizens of Salem. Zoning Board of Appeals The ZBA hears all requests for variations in zoning, special use permits and appeals from administrative decisions or interpretations of the City's Zoning Code 120 Washington St. - 3rd Floor 3rd Wednesday of each month- at 6:30 pm
Board of Assessor's The Board of Assessor's professionally works with the City Assessor's Department to create a yearly tax listing, in accordance with Massachusetts State Law, and in a manner which will instill confidence in all property valuations Assessor's Office as needed basis
Cable Commission The Cable Commission is solely responsible for monitoring any cable television provider's license compliance to the City, as well as hear and facilitate resolution of customer complaints regarding customer service. 120 Washington St. - 3rd Floor 2nd Tuesday of each month at 6:30 pm
Cemetery Commission The Cemetery Commission is responsible for all management functions, operations and policy making of the City's cemeteries. 120 Washington St. - 3rd Floor as needed basis
Conservation Commission The Conservation Commission shall conduct research and policy advice on wetland rules and regulations, deliniations and zoning/variance compliance. 120 Washington St - Room 313 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month
Design Review Board Under the direction of the Redevelopment Authority, the Design review Board approves the design of all major building developments 120 Washington St. - 3rd Floor 4th Wednesday of each month at 6:00 pm
Disability Commission The Commission s objective is to ensure that all people with disabilities are afforded the opportunities to exercise all the rights and responsibilities accorded to citizens of this City and each person with a disability is able to reach his/her maximum potential in independence, human development, productivity and self-sufficiency. Board of Health The Board of Health is responsible for protecting and promoting resident and visitor health through enforcement of MA Department of Public Health and MA Department of Environmental Protection sanitary and environmental codes and statutes, as well as local regulations and ordinances. 120 Washington St. - 3rd Floor 2nd Tuesday of each month at 7:00 pm
Historic District Commission The Historic District Commission promotes the educational, cultural, economic and general welfare of the public through the preservation and protection of historic buildings, sites and districts. 120 Washington St. - 3rd Floor 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month at 7:00 pm
Housing Authority The Salem Housing Authority (SHA) is committed to providing a full range of safe, secure, suitable, and appropriate affordable housing opportunities to extremely-low, very-low, and low income family, elderly, and disabled households in a fair manner. 27 Charter St. 4th Tuesday of each month at 7:00 pm
Latino Affairs Commission The Latino Commission works to address issues in the growing Latino community 2nd floor City Hall - City Council Ante Room Last Monday of each month at (except July) at 6:00 pm
Licensing Commission The Board grants and regulates various types of food and alcohol licenses for restaurants, nightclubs, hotels, private clubs, package stores and inns. 120 Washington St. - 3rd Floor 2nd and 4th Monday of each month at 6:00 pm
Park & Recreation Commission The Park and Recreation Commission discusses and creates policy regarding all of the City's parks and recreation programs. Mack Park Commissioner's Room as needed basis at 6:30 pm
Parking Board The Parking Board discusses and creates policy regarding the City's Parking garages, lots, and spaces throughout the City 120 Washington St. - 3rd Floor 1st Monday of each month at 4:30 pm
Personnel Board The Personnel Board is an advisory board which advises on policy issues inherent in the personnel system. 2nd floor City Hall - Human Resource office 3rd Tuesday of every month at 4:30 pm
Planning Board The Planning board was established to review proposed residential and commercial development within the City. The Board is the issuing authority for special permits according to the City bylaw. 120 Washington St. - 3rd Floor 1st and 3rd Thursday of each month at 7:00 pm
Public Library Trustees
Salem Public Library - 370 Essex St. 3rd Thursday of each month at 5:00 pm
Plummer Home for Boys Trustees
Plummer Home for Boys 2nd Tuesday of the months of January, July, April and October at 7:00 pm
Redevelopment Authority

Registrar of Voters The Registrar of Voters oversees the operations of the City's elections. Salem City Hall - Room 5 as needed basis
Retirement Board Oversees the investments and funding of the City's retirement system as well as approve retirements. 20 Central St. Suite 110 last Thursday of each month at 9:30 am
