 The developer has floated a plan to rezone the property to allow for multiple family housing and a new YMCA. After a meeting with the residents during the week of June 1`2, 2000, which according to the SEN (Salem Evening News) was attended by about 150 people, a majority of whom were in opposition, the developer announced that they would have additional meetings with the abutters and residents, prior to submitting a formal plan.
